Question
Can I link media files directly from iTunes, iPhoto, Aperture, iMovie?
Answer
In Bento 3, you can directly access iTunes, iPhoto and so on and put your media files into a File List field or a Media field.
For the File List field type:
Create a File List field and put it on a form. Then Click on the + icon at the bottom of the File List field. This will open a dialog box where you can scroll down to the Media section. In the Media section you will see the various Apple media applications, such as iTunes, iPhoto, iMove, Aperture. You can select the entire library or search for individual songs, movies, or photos. You can also see (and select) playlists in iTunes, Albums and Events in iPhoto, projects in Aperture and so on. Whatever files select will be linked (not copied) into the File List field in Bento.
You skip hitting the + icon and simply link files by dragging them directly into the File List field from another application.
You can also drag a file folder into the file list field. When you click on the folder it will open and you can see the files inside it.
The Media field type:
The media field works the same as the File List field, except that
it can only hold one file
by default you will embed (copy) the file (see below for more)
multi-media files (photos, movies) will be displayed, as will PDF files.
