Passer de Mac OS 9.1 à Mac OS X sur un 8500...

- Power Mac 8500, PowerPC G3 processor, 250 Mhz, 176 MoRam, Mac OS 9.1 - 2 Go HDD

Mon 8500 ayant été "dopé" d'un processor G3 non-d'origine, je n'arrive pas à le faire passer à Mac OS X...

Mais je suis sûr que c'est possible!

En savez-vous quelque chose?

Peut-être existe-t'il un logiciel qui permettrait de faire le pont, ou quoi?

Je crains que non, voici la configuration requise, conseillée par Apple :


* Mac équipé d’un processeur PowerPC G3, G4 ou G5
* FireWire intégré
* 256 Mo de RAM
* 3 Go d'espace disque disponible (4 Go si vous installez les outils de développement)

effectivement, on peut mettre os x sur des macs "non supportés"

je l'ai fait sur mon PM8600,avec une carte G3, et cela marche très bien, sauf que c'est un peu lent

Pour installer Mac OS X 10.2 XPostFacto 2.2.5

Pour installer Mac OS X 10.3 XPostFacto 3.0a12

voir les dernieres versions d'xpostfacto sur le net (car je suis maintenant sur un vrai G4)

While Apple has limited its support for Mac OS X to those machines that originally came with a G3 or G4 processor, it is possible to install Mac OS X on some earlier machines.

The unsupported machines that work now are the 7300, 7500, 7600, 8500, 8600, 9500 and 9600, as well the clones that were based on one of these systems (the Umax S900 and J700, and the Power Computing Power Wave and PowerTower Pro).

The original processors in these machines will work (with the exception of the 7500, which requires a processor upgrade). G3 or G4 upgrade cards work as well. Other models that use the PCI architecture may be made to work in time.
